ARTIST STATEMENT:  Man’s oldest and dearest friend is the focus of my portrait paintings. Language is both a gift and a barrier but a dog’s eyes have the ability to touch our pain,  our needs,  our joys,  beyond measure and words.  Wether I paint with small mixed mediums of watercolor and pastel,  monoprint,  or larger-than-life oils on canvas,  my goal is to capture a thought,  an emotion,  a feeling,  as reflected through the eyes of America’s most beloved companion.
